On 3 February, 2021, Meisterstrasse Japan Edition has been launched. Our aim is to communicate and promote Japanese arts and crafts to the world.
Please take a look at our online press conference here.
The founder of Meisterstrasse Japan Edition, Hiyoshiya has continued the tradition of manufacturing Kyoto style wagasa (Japanese umbrellas) for over 160 years. Our fifth generation head craftsman Kotaro Nishibori believes that “tradition is continuing innovation" and that skill and history should be passed onto future generations; he continues to make use of skill and culture to create new value in contemporary lifestyles.
To achieve this goal, Hiyoshiya has collaborated with Meisterstrasse, the world’s largest portal site, bringing together approximately 5000 ateliers mainly from Europe, but also from across the globe. Hand in hand, as Meisterstrasse Japan Edition, we will become the gateway to bring Japanese cultural crafts to the rest of the world. Please discover our mission more in detail from here.
